ASRY and SST-NDT have signed a contract for the provision of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Post Weld Heat Treatment Services to the Arab Ship Repair Yard (ASRY) in Bahrain. The contract is servicing the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO) expansion programme for its Sitra Oil Refinery. The expansion will boost the capacity to 360,000 barrels per day (bpd) from the current 267,000 bpd. Bapco currently receives 220,000-230,000 bpd of crude oil from state oil company Saudi Aramco and will import the same volume during the refinery’s expansion, with commissioning of the increased capacity scheduled for late 2022 or early 2023.
